Elizabeth Ury, owner of PrimeLife Care, has been in the person centered care business for over 30 years. Her background began in the hospitality industry with more recent experience in the assisted living and skilled care arena.
Her love of older adults - listening and learning from their experiences- started with her grandfather. She noticed his need for services changed as his health deteriorated. With help from caring, knowledgeable people and equipment to adapt his environment, he was able to comfortably stay in his home of 45 years until his last days.
Her passion blossomed when she saw the joy her infant son brought to the older adults when she volunteered with him at an eldercare facility. She observed the power of multi-generational support and now makes an effort to incorporate it into care plans when appropriate. Her professional titles have included Assisted Living Facilities Activity Director, Assisted Living Administrator and Assisted Director of Operations for Skilled Nursing. A strength in assessment, natural interest in older adults and proven ability to help families make decisions about care for their loved ones were important factors in Elizabeth's professional growth.
Elizabeth is a LNHA (Licensed Nursing Home Administrator) and strives to use her experiences to help older adults stay productive and positive throughout their lives. She is also the Volunteer Director for Faith in Action, a non-sectarian, non-for-profit organization that works with home bound seniors without much support. Trained and supervised volunteers help with the everyday tasks of independent living such as transportation, grocery shopping and social support. For more information go to www.selcfia.org.
